The AFROTC Detachment 159 Drill Team is an armed exhibition drill team. That is, we perform routines of marching and rifle movements to exhibit the precision and excellence of the United States Air Force. Drill team spends a couple hours every week practicing routines to represent the detachment to the local community through these performances. Dedicated members of the Drill Team can expect to demonstrate their mastery of routines to the other cadets of the detachment and our brother Army ROTC detachment at our annual sporting competitions, as well as to members of the local community at events we’re invited to.
Members of drill team are looked to when our detachment is asked to judge drill competitions among the local Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) detachments. The members of drill team are recognized within AFROTC detachment 159 by a white shoulder cord on their blues uniforms.
